Stanford PS300

The Stanford PS300 series is a range of high-voltage power supplies with specific models like PS310, PS325, PS350. Each model has a different voltage and current range, some are also dual polarity. The unit are remotely controllable by means of a GPIB interface, some models also have an RS-232 port. We use a Prologix GPIB GPIB -> ethernet adapter for GPIB control, which is supported by EPICS asyn.

Setting up the Device

The IOC works with a MOXA connected to the RS-232 port or Prologix GPIB -> ethernet. If the device is dual polarity, this can be changed via a dial at the rear of the unit.

For RS232 control set the PORT macro to the moxa com port

For GPIB set the IPADDR macro to the address of the Prologix GPIB adapter, and set the GPIBADDR macro to the GPIB address. This address will normally be 14, but check the menus on the device if you cannot connect.

You also need to choose the correct model number for the MODEL macro, with a pos or neg suffix for a dual polarity device. The model name is a prefix to DB substitution files listed in https://github.com/ISISComputingGroup/EPICS-SRS_PS300/tree/main/ps300Sup
